The phases of the moon are manifestations of the three forms of the Goddess. Each lunar phase carries with it its own distinct sacred purpose and spiritual meanings and lessons. The phases of the moon we honor and venerate are those which represent the Triple Goddess in her aspects as Maiden, Mother, and Crone: the New Moon (which would be the crescent moon NOT the moon in its dark phase), the Full Moon, and the Dark Moon respectively. The rituals for New Moon (Diana’s Bow) and Dark Moon esbats (as presented by the Aquarian Tabernacle Church of Wicca) take a somewhat similar form, therefore the list of sacred/supplies/etc. will be similar. At this time we are not presenting regularly scheduled Full Moon rituals however if one of the Monday Wiccan Meetings happens to fall on the FUll Moon it is conceivable that we may take that opportunity to conduct such a ritual at that time.
THE NEW MOON ritual honors the Goddess Diana, the Maiden, and emphasizes new plans, new hopes, new beginnings. She is Inception.
THE FULL MOON ritual honors The Great Mother and her consort the God. It is the time when we see the union of creation and the fulfillment and fruition of those new beginnings. She is Creation.
THE DARK MOON ritual honors the Goddess Hecate, the Crone, the Guide, She who illuminates the path to introspection and self knowledge. It is She who knows the secrets of our heart and the deepest depths of our soul. She is Transition.
